George KIRK was born Cemetery Road, Monks Coppenhall 27 August 1874. 


George married Ellen HANCOCK in St Matthews, Haslington, 15 April 1897.  Married by Banns. George was 22 years and gave his occupation as Boiler Maker, his residence was Coppenhall. Ellen was 22years and her residence was Haslington.  The marriage was solemized in the presence of John MOSSES and Lizzie HANCOCK.  Ellen was born 1875 the daughter of William Henry HANCOCK. 


At the time of the 1901 census George (26) was living at 256 Stoneley Road, Church Coppenhall together with his wife Ellen (26) and their daughters Gertrude (2) and Gladys (6 months).  George gave his occupation as 'Engine Boiler Maker'. 


In the 1913 edition of the 'Crewe Commercial Directory' George was living at 'Cattle Arch'.  His occupation was given as 'Boiler Maker'. 


George KIRK and Ellen HANCOCK had the following children:


Gertrude KIRK was born in Groby Road, Crewe Feb 1899.  She was baptized  on Easter Day in St Michaels, Church Coppenhall, 2 April 1899.


Gladys KIRK was born in Groby Road, Crewe Nov 1900.  She was baptized in St Michaels, Church Coppenhall, 2 December 1900.
