Joseph DAWSON was born Lancashire 1786 Approx. 

He married Sarah CHADWICK ?? in Manchester Cathedral, 3 August 1823.  This information is taken from the IGI and will need to be checked.  Sarah was born 1786. 

At 41 years of age Joseph became the father of Edward DAWSON Eccles, 1827.  He was listed as head of household in the 1841 census in Manchester.  AT the time of the 1841 census Joseph (55) was living on Hardman Street, Ancoats together with his wife Sarah (55) and their son Edward (15).  No occupation was given for Joseph.  Sarah was a 'Reeler' and Edward a 'Cotton Worker'.

Edward DAWSON was born 1827.

Edward DAWSON  was born Eccles 1827.  Edward died Sept 1867 Barton, at 40 years of age. 

He married Nancy WILLIAMSON in Parish Church, Preswich, Lancasher, 24 June 1849.  Nancy was born in Worsley 1829 the daughter of William WILLIAMSON. 

At the time of the 1851 census Edward (25) was listed as a Lodger at 28 Oxford Terrace, Chelsea. He gave his occupation as 'Painter'. 

At the time of the 1861 census Edward (35) was living at Moorside, Worsley together with his wife Nancy (32) and their children William (10), William Charles (6) and Joseph Edward (1).  Edward gave his occupation as 'Cotton Mill Store Keeper'.

Edward DAWSON and Nancy WILLIAMSON had the following children:

William DAWSON was born 17 April 1850.

William Charles DAWSON was born Barton 1855.

Joseph Edward DAWSON was born Barton 1859.
