Thomas KIRK was born in Coppenhall, Cheshire 3 January 1812.  He was baptized in St Michaels, Church Coppenhall, 23 February 1812. 

Thomas died 28 January 1871 in Clive, at 59 years of age.  At the time of his death Thomas's age was given as 58 yrs and his occupation 'Labourer on a Railway'. Cause of Death given as 'Haematemosis some 12 months since, Pyrosis 14 days Syncope' and it was registered by Elisha KIRK of Wharton, who was present at death.  Death registered: 30 January 1871.

He married Mary DALE in Middlewich, St Michael, 3 October 1838.  At the time of their marriage both Thomas and Mary gave thier abode as Clive, Cheshire. Witnesses at marriage: John SPR?STON and Charlotte SMITH.   Mary was born in Clive 1817 the daughter of Allan DALE. 

At the time of the 1841 census Thomas (30) was living at Clive together with his wife Mary (20) and their children Eliza (2) and twins Mary and Jane both 4 months. Thomas was a 'Salt manufacturer'.

At the time of the 1851 census Thomas (38) was living Clive, Cheshire together with his wife Mary (34) and their children Elisha (11), Mary (10), Jane (10), Thomas (8), Jacob (6), Hannah (2) and Elizabeth (1mth).  Thomas gave his occupation as 'Rail Labourer'. 

At the time of the 1871 census Thomas (48) is living at Middlewich Road, Clive together with his wife Mary (45) and their children Elizabeth (10) , Sarah (7), Suzanna (6), SAmuel (4) and Eli (2).  Thomas gave his occupation as 'Salt Maker'.

At the time of the 1861 census Thomas (48) was living on Middlewich Road, Clive together with his wife Mary (45) and their children Elizabeth (10), Sarah (7), Susannah (6), Samuel (4) and Eli (2).  Thomas gave his occupation as ' Salt Maker'.

Thomas KIRK and Mary DALE had the following children:

Elisha KIRK was born 28  August 1839.  On Elisha's Birth Certificate his father is given as Samuel KIRK. 

Mary KIRK was born 5 February 1841.

Jane KIRK was born in Clive 5 February 1841.  Jane was born at a quarter past one o'clock pm

Thomas KIRK was born 1 February 1843.

Jacob KIRK was born in Clive 22 September 1844. 

He married Ann STANWAY Congregational Church, Middlewich, 13 July 1878.  At the time of their marriage Jacob was 34 yrs, a bachelor living at Clive.  He gave his occupation as 'Salt Maker'.  Ann was 35 yrs, a widow living at Clive.  The witnesses were Arthur & Maria SPROSTON.  Ann was born in Over 1844 the daughter of Joseph SPROSTON. 

At the time of the 1861 census Jacob was working as a 'Servant' on the 'Farm near Canal Bridge'  in Stanthorne.

At the time of the 1881 census Jacob (36) is living at Middlewich Road, Clive together with his wife Ann (37) and their stepdaughter Annie STANWAY (8).  Jacob gave his occupation as 'Salt Boiler'. 

At the time of the 1891 census Jacob (46) is living at 3 Middlewich Road,  Wharton (formerley Clive) together with his wife Annie (47) and Annie STANWAY (18) who is now stated to be a 'Servant'. Jacob gave his occupation as 'Farmer'.

At the time of the 1901 census Jacob (56) and his wife Ann (57) were living at No 3 Middlewich Road, Whaton. Jacob gave his occupation as 'Farmer'.

Hannah KIRK was born in Clive 26 June 1848.  She married William Samuel HARRISON Witton Parish Church, 14 October 1872.  At the time of the marriage both were of 'Full Age' and living in Witton. William was an 'ENGINEER'.  The witnesses were Frederick HARRISON and Mary KIRK. William is the son of James HARRISON.

 

At the time of the 1861 census Hannah (13) was working as a 'House Maid' at Park House Farm, Brerton Road, Sandbach.

Elizabeth KIRK was born in Clive 13 March 1851

Sarah KIRK was born Clive, Cheshire 1854.

Susannah KIRK was born Clive, Cheshire 1855.

Samuel KIRK was born 1857.

Eli KIRK was born 21 November 1858.
