Thomas KIRK was born in Church Coppenhall, Crewe 28 July 1852. He was baptized in St Michaels, Church Coppenhall, 22 August 1852.


He married Frances WOOD in Register Office, Wolstanton, Staffs, 23 June 1873.  On their marriage certificate Thomas gave his age as 29 years, occupation as Steel Caster and Residence as Crewe. Frances gave her age as 29 years and residence as Furlong Lane, Burslem.  The witnesses were Joshua Holdcroft and Sarah Ellerton.


Frances was born in Davenham, Cheshire 6 March 1853.  Frances was the daughter of James WOOD and Mary SANDBACH.  In the 1881 census Frances gave her name as Joanna.  This may be a mistake by the transcriber.


At the time of the 1901 census Thomas (49) was living at Cattle Arches together with his wife Frances (47) and their children Thomas (16), Stephen (12), Elsie (4) and Helen (2).  Thomas gave his occupation as 'Smithy Hammer Man'.  At the time of his son Thomas's wedding Thomas gave his occupation as Striker.

Florence Jane KIRK was born Spring Grove, Church Coppenhall 28 March 1876. She was baptized in St Matthews, Haslington, 30 April 1877.


Florence married William MOSS in St Michaels, Church Coppenhall, 14 December 1907.  At the time of the Marriage, William was 24 years, occupation Labourer and gave his address as 'Church Coppenhall'.  Florence Jane was 30 years and gave her address as 'Off North Street, Crewe'.  The ceremony was witnessed by Thomas KIRK and Emma Sarah Elizabeth CONDLIFFE.  William was born 1803.  William was the son of William MOSS.


At the time of the 1901 census Florence was living at 376 Manchester Road, Great Lever, Bolton.  She gave her occupation as 'General Servant-Domestic'.


Frances Annie KIRK was born in Haslington, Cheshire 19 April 1878.


Frances Ann married George Henry KAY in St Michaels, Church Coppenhall, 1 November 1896.  Married by Banns. Geoge was 21years and gave his occupation as a fitter. Frances was 19 years.  Both gave their residence as Cattle Arch, Church Coppenhall.  The marriage was solemized in the presence of George KIRK and Ellen HANCOCK who were married the following year.  George Henry was born in Church Coppenhall, Crewe 23 May 1876 the son of Thomas KAY and Mary EGERTON.

Gertrude KIRK was born in Haslington, Cheshire 24 October 1881.

At the time of the 1901 census Gertrude (20) was employed as a ' Housemaid Domestic' at 99 Castle Street, Bolton.  The head of the household was Robert PARKINSON.


Elizabeth KIRK was born in Haslington, Cheshire 13 March 1883.

At the time of the 1901 census Elizabeth was living at 58 Starcliffe Street, Great Lever, Bolton.  She gave her occupation as 'Housemaid - Domestic'.


Thomas KIRK was born in Haslington, Cheshire 6 July1885. 

Thomas married Martha Jane EDWARDS in Nantwich, St Mary, 8 April 1912.  At the time of their marriage, Thomas gave his age as 26 years, occupation as Boiler Maker and address as 177 Underwood Lane Crewe. Martha Jane was 27 years and living at 32 Remer Street, Crewe.  The witnesses were William Charles MILLS and Amy BARNETT.   Martha was born 1885 the daughter of Adam EDWARDS. 

Thomas's occupation: Apprentice Engine Boiler Maker 1901.


Stephen KIRK was born 301 Stonley Road, Church Coppenhall 19 November 1888.


Elsie KIRK was born Cattle Arches, Church Coppenhall 6 November 1896.  She was baptized in St Michaels, Church Coppenhall, 2 December 1900. Religion: C of E.  Baptism record states abode as Cattle Arches.


Martha Ellen KIRK was born Maw Green Road, Church Coppenhall 29 January 1898.  She was baptized in St Michaels, Church Coppenhall, 2 December 1900. Religion: C of E.  Baptism record states abode as Cattle Arches.


Helen KIRK was born in Church Coppenhall 1899.
